After impressing with Eintracht Frankfurt this season, Manchester United ponder a move for the Bundesliga striker.

Manchester United look to bolster their squad in the upcoming summer, and a young striker is on the club’s list of priorities. Anthony Martial is misfiring of late, whereas Edinson Cavani is aged. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has shortlisted a potential signing from the German top-flight, Bundesliga.

According to Sky Sports, the Norwegian manager is keen on adding Andre Silva to his roster. The former Sevilla striker has been a standout performer for Eintracht Frankfurt this season. The attacker has clocked 22 appearances for Die Adler this season, managing 19 goals and five assists in all competitions. The Portuguese made his move permanent last September after an initial loan spell in Germany through the 2019/20 campaign.

The Portuguese attacker is an excellent option to bolster the squad at a price of 40 million euro, however, it is understood that the Red Devils are treating Silva as an alternate option in their chase for the Erling Haaland. The 20-year-old has emerged as the top transfer target for the English outfit, but the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid remain interested in his services as well.

Solskjaer truly feels the need to sign the former RB Salzburg attacker to improve the quality of their frontline going forward. The Borussia Dortmund striker has scored 25 goals and provided seven assists in 24 appearances for Die Borussen.

With a massive price tag of 100 million euros, Haaland’s evaluation could prove out to be a bit too much for Red Devils in the ongoing pandemic. On the other hand, Silva has yet to garner interest from the top European clubs, giving the first-mover advantage to United. Andre Silva possesses all the qualities to succeed at Old Trafford and it will be interesting to see how the 25-year-old adapts to the English game.
