Manchester United have had an unproductive transfer window so far but they might change things before deadline day.

One of the biggest sagas of this transfer window has been of Jadon Sancho and an apparent move to the Premier League. The main talks regarding the transfer have revolved around Manchester United but further complications and drama resulted in Liverpool entering the race to sign the Borussia Dortmund star.

Eventually, the Red Devils were favourites again to sign the youngster and were given a deadline by the German side to submit an offer, which they failed to comply with, causing even more conundrum.

The main issue that surrounds the move is the asking price that his side demand for him, which stands at a staggering 120 million euros. United have been trying to negotiate to bring this price down lower but Dortmund seem adamant and will not bring down the price tag.

Since then, various statements have been made by club officials that Sancho is their player and will not leave this window, and rumours around the move have died down as well. As a result, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is forced to look elsewhere for other options if they are unable to bring the 20-year-old to the Old Trafford.

One candidate that happens to be a viable replacement is Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele. The France international was signed back in 2017 from Dortmund with Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool as a replacement after the departure of Neymar.

However, the 23-year-old has failed to live up to expectations and is regarded as a flop signing since he has been ridden with injuries and has played only sparsely games for the club. Consequently, Barca will be open to offers that will rid them of the player, and the asking price for him is placed at a 100 million euros.

With an offer much cheaper than that of Sancho, Ole’s side is reportedly interested in a possible move. The Frenchman shows great promise and has pace and dribbling in his arsenal which is sure to help any team that feature him in their squad.  Recieving enough play time, Dembele would be a great addition to the Red Devils and it be seen whether a move to the Premier League is in his fortune.
