REAL SOCIEDAD WITHER AFTER A STRONG START TO THE SEASON
Real Sociedad will be utterly disappointed with their performance against Manchester United in Turin. Imanol Alguacil‘s side did start on a decent note as they lodged attacks into the opponents half and were almost on the verge of drawing first blood as Adnan Januzaj saw his curling shot go wide of the post. Alexander Isak had shown some promise in the first half after making inroads into United box but had failed to create a clear cut chance for himself.
La Real, as a defensive unit, were dismal at the back against the visiting side. The team succumbed to their frequent mistakes in the backline and therefore had conceded four goals over the course of 90 minutes. Igor Zubeldia and Robin Le Normand had average outings on Thursday and had a forgetful night in their own half. Nacho Monreal had a better game than his other defensive team-mates but was unable to provide much success to the team’s final third.
Real Sociedad are unlikely to make a comeback in their second leg fixture at the Old Trafford. Imanol Alguacil’s men will look to put up a fight in the second leg and hope to put up an improved performance next Friday.

IS BRUNO FERNANDES THE BEST SIGNING POST FERGUSON ERA?
Bruno Fernandes was signed by Manchester United for a fee of 55 million euros in January 2020. His arrival at Old Trafford saw the club secure a third-place finish in the Premier League last season. On Thursday, the Portuguese midfielder registered his 20th goal of the season against Real Sociedad. The former Sporting man did some heavy damage to the hosts as he notched up a brace and was a constant threat to La Real’s defence.
The former Sporting Lisbon midfielder was adjudged Man of the Match in the first leg of club’s round of 32 fixture. The Red Devils attacker has been in terrific form in front of the goal and now would hope to see his side secure the Europa League title and also get hands-on his first major silverware at the club.
