Manchester United fail to sign one of the star players of Real Madrid as the Red Devils miss out on another transfer target
Manchester United transfer wishlist consisted of some of the best players around Europe as the Red Devils were on the lookout to buy players like Jadon Sancho, Sergio Reguilon, and Donny van de Beek. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s side succeeded in bringing Van de Beek to Old Trafford but somehow missed out on their other priority targets.
Many critics have slammed Ed Woodward for his inability to negotiate deals for the club’s transfer targets. United’s failure to land Jadon Sancho added to the misery of the club’s mediocre performance in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils did manage to do some decent business on the deadline day of the transfer window as the club managed to sign Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles. Ole’s side also went on to add youngsters like Facunda Pellestri and Amad Traore in the dying moments of the summer window as well to add squad depth.
However, there have been reports from a Spanish source that state that Manchester United was interested to bring Martin Odegaard to the Old Trafford this summer. The Norwegian midfielder was reportedly on the radar of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the United boss was keen to work with his fellow countryman.
The Red Devils were unsuccessful in an attempt to sign the 21-year-old midfielder from Santiago Bernabeu. The reasons behind the failure of the move were not revealed by the source but it has been claimed that Ole’s side was not active enough to persuade the youngster to join the English outfit.
Manchester United will feel they have enough resources to compete for the domestic trophies this season as the addition of a world-class striker and a dynamic left-back will bring much-needed rejuvenation to the current Red Devils squad. The prospect of playing Pogba, Cavani, and Fernandes in the same lineup will surely boost the morale of United fans.
