Manchester United ponder over a possible swap deal with Inter Milan as they might look to trade one of their new arrivals this winter

Manchester United have brought a sufficient number of reinforcements in the recently concluded transfer window as the club signed a quartet of players ahead of their long season. The Red Devils brought in a mixture of youth and experience as they added the likes of Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles, Facundo Pellestri, and Amad Traore.

However, the English outfit is now ready to bring in more signings in the upcoming winter transfer window as the club feels the need to iron out the flaws which are still existent in the current squad. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side might look to sign another midfielder as their new arrival Donny van de Beek has not yet been handed a starting role in the United lineup.

According to a source, Red Devils are now considering making a move for one of the star members of Inter Milan as Christian Eriksen has now become a prime target for the club. The former Tottenham Hotspur star was previously touted to make a switch to Old Trafford last January but initially opted to move to San Siro.

Since his move to the Nerazzurri, the Danish international has done not much for Antonio Conte‘s side as the player made 17 appearances in the league campaign last season. The 29-year-old midfielder is still adapting to life in his new club and has been underwhelming since his move to Italy.

There have been strong rumours that Manchester United are plotting a swap for Eriksen and are reportedly ready to include Donny van de Beek in the deal. The Dutch international has been confined to a bench role in his debut season at Old Trafford as the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Scott Mctominay, and Fred have been provided with the chance to feature as a starter in Ole’s side.

The Norwegian boss although has heaped praise on the work ethic of the former Ajax star and has backed the player to do well. Ahead of the team’s game against RB Leipzig, the United manager said, “Donny is going to play a big, big part this year. When players come into a new team, a new league, they always need time to adapt.”

The official details of this swap deal will be revealed when the transfer window commences from January 2. It will be fascinating to see whether the Red Devils decide to swap the Dutchman who had just arrived in September.
