Alexis Sanchez has flopped at Manchester United, to be fair, but his career may reignite elsewhere with Inter Milan being a likely destination.
Alexis Sanchez is currently out on a loan at Inter Milan and will continue to be so until the 5th of August. The Serie A giants wants to make the deal permanent with Manchester United eager to offload him, in order to make way for newer signings.
Express claims that the only issue in the deal is the bid that Inter are willing to offer and the bid that the Red Devils want to accept. The Italians are not willing to shell out more than 14 million pounds for the 32-year-old due to his wages whereas the Premier League giants are adamant on their 19 million pound evaluation given his current form.
Sanchez has struck form and one may suggest that it’s only a matter of time before he shows the quality he showed while at Arsenal. The forward has found the net three times and has assisted on six occasions since the restart of Serie A. Even though he spent a chunk of his time on the side-lines at Inter, injured, Antonio Conte wants to keep him and rightly so.
Another point of concern for both the teams is Sanchez’s wage bill which makes him one of the best paid players going around. The Chilean earns a whooping 450,000 pounds per week and that has put a major dent on Manchester United’s war-chest. This is the precisely one of the reasons why they want to get rid of him, form obviously being the other.
On the other hand, Inter has recognised the potential long-term complications of having to shoulder Alexis’ wage duties and hence they are going to tell the forward to take a huge pay-cut should the deal be made permanent. With playing time and rejuvenation being a bright prospect at the San Siro, the former Barcelona man is willing to have a reduction in his salary demands.
The clock is ticking for the both the teams to make the deal permanent. Manchester United are in talks with the Nerazzurri’s representatives to make the deal permanent before the expiry of his extended loan spell. It looks like Manchester United will get a sum that is more than 14 million pounds for the 32-year-old’s services and certainly a huge relief on their wage bill which will provide them with a boost in their Jadon Sancho pursuit.
