Manchester United have shifted their focus on struggling Barcelona star, Ousmane Dembele.
United had previously kept Sancho as their most desired transfer for the summer as the coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, wanted his signing to reinforce his existing squad with a quality attacker despite the squad having an impressive spell since the restart.
Sancho, however, is a superstar for his current employers Borussia Dortmund, after scoring 20 goals and providing 20 assists in 44 appearances across all competition. The German side have demanded a whopping 100 million euro transfer fee, refusing to go any lower as they do not want to lose their star player without getting compensated for it.
The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has impacted the finances of every sporting club in the world, with Manchester United being no different. According to The Athletic, the Premier League side have placed a 55 million euros limit on their transfer budget for this season meaning in order to secure Sancho, Solskjaer will have to sell his existing players.
For this reason, United have shifted their focus on a move affordable target like Barcelona forward, Ousmane Dembele, who is currently out on an injury. The French international has had a poor spell at Camp Nou, often watching the games from his home due to the multiple injuries he has sustained in the three-year duration.
Barca are also suffering from financial difficulties and will be open to the idea of selling their expensive injury-prone winger who is valued at around 55 million euros. However, Sancho remains the ideal signing with United reportedly looking to sell players like Chris Smalling, Alexis Sanchez, Marcos Rojo, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, and Diogo Dalot, in order to raise enough funds for the summer.
