After being linked to Manchester United and Liverpool in the summer transfer window, nothing materialized for David Brooks.

One of the sensational wingers in the English top-flight, David Brooks was on the verge of making his return to the English Premier League after AFC Bournemouth were relegated to the Championship on the final day of COVID hit 2019/20 season. Despite being linked with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, no deal could materialize for the Wales international. After being nine games unbeaten in the Championship, the player has come out and spoke about the speculations and his decision for the upcoming transfer window.

Talking to The Echo, David Brooks opined that he is looking to make the most of the 2020/21 season and take the team back to the top-flight. The player lamented about the injury which had a huge toil on AFC Bournemouth’s stay in the top-flight.

“I think being in the Premier League – I had a full season and then got injured. From my point of view, it was cut a bit short for myself.

“I was disappointed I couldn’t really factor in last year, so I am desperate to get back in the Premier League and hopefully it’s with Bournemouth.

When asked about the player’s aspirations to play for the top clubs in English Premier League, the player said that everyone would love to be a part of big clubs, big stadiums, and a huge fan base. Every player will like to play on a huge occasion when the crowds are back. However, the 23-year-old wants to play at the big stadium but with Cherries only. He also believes that AFC Bournemouth has the squad that can take the team back to where they belong to.

The player said:

“We are all working towards that and, with the squad we’ve got, we’ve got a really good chance.”

After enjoying a great breakthrough season in 2018/19, where the AFC Bournemouth player banged seven goals and five assists in 30 appearances for his team. He was instrumental in the team’s successive stay in the top-flight since his move from Sheffield United in 2018.

It would be interesting to see where does a player of caliber like David Brooks ends up with. Should he move to Anfield or to Old Trafford? What are your thoughts on the transfer? Comment down below.
