Paris Saint-Germain desire AC Milan midfielder amidst Manchester City interest.

Premier League giants, Manchester City, are prepared to compete against Paris Saint-Germain for the signing of AC Milan’s midfield maestro.

PSG have been chasing Ismael Bennacer for many months now but Pep Guardiola has decided to steal the Algerian international from under their noses by using their own Algerian player, Riyad Mahrez.

The AC Milan star is a wanted man in Europe and has already received two mega offers from interested European giants. Reports claim that offers of 30 and 40 million euros have both been rejected by the Italian side.

City are hoping to use Bannacer’s countrymen, Mahrez, to convince him to unite at the club level, as well as the fact that Guardiola himself is adamant about including the 22-year-old in his plans next season.

Regardless of which team approaches the Milanese side, the transfer is said to cost at least 50 million euros with the midfielder stating that he feels honoured by all the attention.

“I am not aware of anything. I just work, give everything on the pitch and I am at the service of AC Milan. My focus is on my club, where I feel great. Obviously the interest of big clubs honours me,” He revealed to Le Buteur via Milan Live

The youngster signed a five-season long deal to play in San Siro last summer. A former Arsenal youngster back in 2015, Bennacer only managed one appearance for the Gunners before leaving for Empoli.

In 2017, he joined AC Milan after helping Empoli, then second division Italian side, in their promotion to Serie A. The 22-year-old has been in fine form lately and even earned the title of the ‘Best Youth Player’ in 2019 edition of the African Cup of Nations.

It remains to be seen whether Mahrez manages to convince his fellow Algerian but one thing is certain, that any team that signs the youngster will definitely add a talented midfielder within their ranks.
