League-leaders, Manchester City will host Wolves in the mid-week clash and will look to carry forward their 20-match winning streak.
Manchester City are in rampant form, crushing almost every opposition they face at the moment. Pep Guardiola’s men are on a winning streak of 20 matches in all competitions and have a healthy lead of 12 points at the top of the table in the Premier League.
The Citizens had to grind out a victory on their trip to London, as they defeated West Ham United by a scoreline of 2-1, thanks to a late goal from John Stones. With the win, City moved to 62 points and are on course to lift their third Premier League title in four years.
Next up for them, are Wolverhampton Wanderers who have revived their season in the past few matches. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are undefeated in their past five Premier League encounters, drawing two and winning three of those matches.
Pep Guardiola is expected to make a few changes with an eye on the weekend clash with Manchester United. Ederson Moraes should start between the sticks for the home side. Aymeric Laporte can be expected to partner Ruben Dias in the centre back position. This means that John Stones will be well-rested for the Manchester Derby. Joao Cancelo will return to the starting lineup and will replace Kyle Walker in the right-back position. Oleksandr Zinchenko will take care of the left-side of the defence.
In the midfield, Rodri should replace Fernandinho and play as the defensive midfielder. Kevin De Bruyne is expected to hold his place in the midfield, with Bernardo Silva completing the three-man midfield.
Raheem Sterling was rested in the weekend trip to London and is expected to start on the left-wing against Wolves. Gabriel Jesus will take the start as the target man for the league leaders and will look to add a few more goals to his tally, given that he will be competing for a place against Sergio Aguero. Phil Foden, who scored on his last league start against Everton, will complete the lineup for City.
