Real Madrid are certain to sell some players this summer to raise money and one of their rejects surely has to leave for a proper career.

Dani Ceballos has been told that he has no future at the Santiago Bernabeu. The current Real Madrid squad does not have enough space to accommodate him, so he’s set to be either sold or made to continue his loan spell which he is currently on at Arsenal.

According to the Express, Manchester City are eyeing Dani Ceballos to strengthen their midfielder having lost David Silva. Pep Guardiola has got a mighty purse to spend this summer after having lost the Premier League title to Liverpool. Arsenal on the other hand, have largely benefitted from Ceballos’ loan spell and would like to have him for another season.

Ceballos has been very impressive for the Gunners even though he had to submit to an injury he sustained, which put him out of action for a couple of months. Post-lockdown he has been a regular starter for Mikel Arteta, and the manager revealed last month that the talks to renew his loan deal are in progress with Real Madrid.

Going by their current budget and targets for the summer, Arsenal making this deal looks highly unlikely and hence, an extended loan spell will work out the best for both the parties. In fact, the 23-year-old has admitted that he likes staying in England which is why Arsenal need to be wary of Manchester City. They could come in and swoop him at any time, thanks to their financial strength.

The Gunners need to act quickly and get themselves and Ceballos an extended loan spell if they want him to continue at the Emirates Stadium. Guardiola has already targeted a few defenders who he prioritizes upon more than a replacement for Silva. The former Barcelona manager also needs to sign a Leroy Sane replacement and Ferran Torres of Valencia seems to be the favourite to fill that vacated position.

Arsenal have got a crucial fixture against Chelsea in the FA Cup final. This would not only decide the winner but in all probability, the fate of their captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who has reportedly stalled his contract extension talks in a bid to play some more European football elsewhere. An FA Cup victory will get Arsenal another chance in the Europa League and all attentions in north London are towards landing silverware.
