Manchester City shortlist five signings for the summer transfer market

Liverpool has dominated this season’s Premier League like never before and for Manchester City, the goal would be to end the Reds dominance next season in the 2020/21 Premier League campaign. The Blues of Manchester was on the verge of a three-peat before Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool thrashed the party, City will now turn their attention towards winning the Champions League and as well as the Premier League next season.

Pep Guardiola is yet to win a Champions League title since he left Barcelona in the summer of 2012. Guardiola since then has managed Bayern Munich and Manchester City and is yet to win the coveted Champions League trophy. Many pundits ridicule Pep’s success as a manager since he has failed to win Europe’s elite trophy out the Camp Nou and that his success at Barca was because of the team he had which consisted of the finest players in the world including the likes of Carles Puyol, Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez, and Andreas Iniesta.

Some believe that Pep was handed success on a silver spoon while in charge at Barca and his actual challenge would be conquering Europe with Manchester City. With David Silva leaving at the end of the season and Leroy Sane already a Bayern Munich player, the Sky Blues of Manchester have a major summer revamp coming up.

Earlier it was reported that the list that Pep had drawn included the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, David Alaba, Ferran Torres, and Lautaro Martinez, however, the Daily Star reports that Manchester City now has a revise list of players the former Bayern Munich manager wants next season at the Etihad Stadium.=

The newly revised list shockingly includes four defenders and one winger. With Vincent Kompany‘s departure, Pep had decided to not sign a replacement which proved to be suicidal as proven this season and it seems like the former Barca man has learned his lesson.

Ruben Dias of Portugal has been added to the list along with Pau Torres, Nathan Ake, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Ferran Torress.

Kaldiou Koulibaly has been considered as the ideal replacement for Vincent Kompany since the Serie A man has the leadership and the physical built just like the former Belgian captain of the Sky Blues. Ferran Torress would be the replacement for Leroy Sane, although Torress may not be as fast the German, the young Spaniard’s technical ability and dribbling skills is on another level.

Ruben Dias, Pau Torress, and Nathan Ake would be considered as back-up signings for the defences. John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi have been tipped with a move away from the Etihad Stadium this summer and Pep has named his three defenders who would be the replacements for the Argentine and English defender.

Stones has been linked with a move to Arsenal and is set to reunite with Mikel Arteta once again. Pep would have to choose between Pau Torress and Nathan Ake to replace Stones as Dias of Portugal would replace Otamendi’s role.

After just escaping a massive breach in the FFP of UEFA, Pep Guardiola has taken a bold step by considering signing five-six players this summer including Lautaro Martinez who is valued at 90 million euros.
