Liverpool will not compete with Manchester United in the next summer transfer market to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho
Manchester United have had a decent transfer window as the club made five new additions to their squad. The club made four signings on the deadline day of the window in what seemed like quite a stressful period for the English side. The Red Devils have been able to add the likes of Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles, Amad Traore, Facundo Pellestri, and Donny van de Beek over the summer, however, the club has failed to bring any of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s transfer targets
Jadon Sancho was the priority signing for the summer, however, the board failed to strike a deal with Borussia Dortmund who were not willing to reduce the price set on their valuable asset. According to recent reports, United are still keen to bring the winger to Old Trafford next summer and will have to compete with Liverpool who has shown serious interest in signing the player as well.
Liverpool legend John Barnes, however, has a different take on the Sancho deal as he believes that his former club might not make a move for the English winger as Klopp’s side already has Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah at their disposal. The Reds legend emphasized the fact that the arrival of Sancho in Anfield will force Liverpool to sell either of their two attacking forwards. The possibility of Sancho getting the nod ahead of the former Roma man looks bleak according to Barnes.
Manchester United side has been more desperate to land the Dortmund winger as at present the squad lacks a winger on the right flank. The club failed on many attempts to lure the Englishman from the German outfit, however, nothing worked out. The present scenario suggests that the Red Devils should wait for another season to land the winger at Old Trafford as the club might come back with a better offer next term and also might as well meet Dortmund’s valuation of 108 million pounds.
