Liverpool are on the verge of losing out on another striker this summer

The sun continues to shine brightly at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Spurs came out victorious against Arsenal in the north London derby and now the Lilywhites are on the verge of stealing a prime target of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Although Liverpool has created history this season in England after conquering the Premier League like never before, however, Jurgen Klopp is worried about whether the same dominance could continue for the next few seasons as well.

The Reds were favourites to sign Timo Werner this summer who is an established clinical goalscorer, however, Liverpool made no official offer and an impatient Werner decided to sign for Chelsea instead and will join forces along with Hakim Ziyech next season at the Stamford Bridge.

The tension continues to mount up at the Anfield as the top-clubs circle around like vultures over both the African forward’s of Liverpool, Mohamad Salah, and Sadio Mane. Mane has been linked with a move to Real Madrid as Zinedine Zidane is eager on bringing the player on this summer if Gareth Bale leaves the club, however, Florentino Perez has made it clear that there will be no huge spendings this summer which has technically ruled out all the possibilities of landing Mane.

Jurgen Klopp finds himself in the same boat as Zinedine Zidane as the Reds will only spend big if they accumulate sufficient profit from the sales that are generated by selling a few players this summer.

The Merseyside club has shortlisted the Ligue 1’s talented striker Victor Oshimen of Lille. The 21-year-old Nigerian striker has had a stellar season so far in his debut year with Lille as he has scored 13 goals and has provided four assists in 27 appearances in the French League.

The African striker has been linked with a move to Napoli and Tottenham Hotspur this season and both the mentioned clubs are ready to battle it out this summer to land his signature, according to the Express. If Liverpool does not make a decision soon enough, Oshimen would become the next Timo Werner for Klopp as he would lose the player to his rival side.

Roberto Firmino has had a poor season in terms of scoring goals so far in the Premier League, however, the Brazilian striker brings more than just finding the net as he is the centre link and the reason why Salah and Mane bag plenty goals a season. However, as a striker it also his duty to score on the daily, and Oshimen this season has proven himself as a goalscoring machine.
