Liverpool have considered signing a forward for this season and have been linked with a Championship side’s versatile forward

The 2019/20 Premier League champions Liverpool, have reportedly opened talks with Watford for Ismalia Sarr that would see him join the Merseyside club as they look forward to bolstering their attacking options. In his debut season with the Hornets, the Senegal star appeared 30 times scoring six and assisting six times in the process, including a phenomenal brace against the Reds.

After a disappointing season, Watford was relegated on the final day of the Premier League after a defeat against Arsenal. A player of Sarr’s quality would certainly not want to continue in the Championship.

As the reports suggest, the Hornets value the 22-year old forward at 40 million pounds and are not willing to decrease the price for their record signing despite being relegated to the Championship. Watford does not prioritize the sale of the former Rennes attacker after the sale of Abdoulaye Doucoure to Everton earlier this week for 20 million pounds.

Apart from Ismalia Sarr, Liverpool is also considering Adama Traore as an option but Wolverhampton Wanderers estimate his value to be around 60 million pounds that does not work with Liverpool’s budget.

Ismalia Sarr has impressed Jurgen Klopp last season with his blistering pace and creative abilities in the final third.  His arrival at Anfield will certainly have a positive impact and reduce the burden on the attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane while also providing healthy competition for the first-team spot.

His ability to play on either wing and through the center makes him a lethal option for Jurgen Klopp to switch up his tactics when needed. The Senega striker considers Sadio Mane as a mentor and a move to the Anfield this summer could provide Sarr the opportunity to grow under the guidance of the former Southampton forward.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool do not have the funds to finance the transfer and are keen to complete the deal in January, it is also believed that the Merseyside Club has a clear run at Sarr as no other clubs seem to be interested.

It will be a great move for both the parties as they look to extract the best out of the situation, Liverpool acquiring great talent and a future prospect, whereas Ismalia Sarr looks to reach greater heights and perform at the highest level in the Premier League.
