Jurgen Klopp and Coutinho are set to reunite this summer
The uncertainty regarding the future of their three most expensive signings continues to grow as Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho and Antoine Griezmann have been linked with several clubs for a move away from the Camp Nou this summer. Former Liverpool midfielder, Coutinho, has been linked heavily with a return to Anfield and Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen on having his star man back.
Philippe Coutinho could secure a move back to Anfield if the player issues an apology for handling his last days at the club in an unspeakable fashion, according to former Aston Villa star Gabby Agbonlahor.
The Brazilian who’s loan deal expires this summer, will be on his way back to the Nou Camp as Bayern Munich are unwilling to pay his 109 million euro buy out clause. With no place for him back in Barcelona, the Brazilian seems desperate for an opportunity this summer.
A move that could possibly revive his career and a move back to Anfield would be ideal for the attacking midfielder as his former team is now a well maintained and stable side who are winning trophies again. Philippe Coutinho had to see his former side win both the Premier League and the Champions League after his departure which was quite surprising for the Brazilian as he left Anfield to win trophies.
At Barcelona, the Brazilian was played out of position which led to him putting in average performances. A place at Anfield would be ideal for the man if he’s played in place of Bobby Firmino or even behind the front three like the old days. A midfield of Coutinho, Fabinho and Henderson and with players like Naby Keita also back in form would be ideal for Liverpool and would provide immense depth.
The former Inter Milan midfielder had over 50 goals for Liverpool from his time there as he provided outstanding performances during his time with the Reds. Coutinho possesses several qualities as well including his long passing range, dribbling skills, and is also an outstanding set-piece taker as his free kicks are enthralling and his corners are always pinpoint. With target men like Van Dijk, Mane, Matip, Gomez, and Fabinho in the box during set pieces for the Reds, the Barcelona man could shine again if he is given another opportunity to revive his career.
Philippe Coutinho back at Anfield would make Juergen Klopp’s side even stronger as they plan to defend their Premier League title for the upcoming season after running past clear all the teams this season to win their first league title since 1990.
