Lionel Messi has revealed some concerning news about his future to newly appointed Barcelona coach, Ronald Koeman.

There has been a major concern over Lionel Messi and his future at Barcelona as the 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich has triggered a massive squad overhaul which may give rise to an era of Barca without the Argentine maestro.

Recently appointed coach Koeman has met with Leo at his home in Barcelona regarding the player’s intentions for next season. RAC1 reports that the Dutch international explained his vision to the club captain while Leo explained his current state of mind.

It has been reported that Barca no. 10 does not see his future at Camp Nou as the recent disappointing results have made him really unhappy. He feels that he is more ‘outside than inside’ the club.

Having said that the six-time Ballon D’or winner is also aware of the difficulty he faces regarding his departure given the unique contractual clauses. Barca hierarchy remains adamant that the player’s existing contract will keep him in Spain. They are not concerned with the revelation of the meeting held between the two.

Regardless of what Leo decides, Koeman has already made up his mind about wanting to use the Argentine next season.

I am looking forward to working with him.” Koeman said.

“It’s up to me to find a way we get the best out of Messi, that he’s happy here and that he feels important. He’s the captain and he should end his career at Barcelona. Messi is Barcelona and Barcelona is Messi.”

“I don’t know if I have to convince Messi or not, You want to have the best in the world in your team, not the opposite.”

Barca fans will be hoping to see Messi continue at the Nou Camp as despite having suffered a historic defeat, no one wants the 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich to be the last highlight of the club under Messi’s captaincy.
