Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has many suitors if he ever leaves Barcelona.
While Manchester City have been heavily linked as favorites to sign a departing Messi due to the presence of Pep Guardiola and best friend Sergio Aguero, It is not impossible to believe that every team in the planet will try their best to sign the maestro.
Barcelona legend, Rivaldo, has added fuel to the existing dream of millions of footballing fans of seeing Messi and Ronaldo play for the same club.
Cadena SER had reported that the Barca captain is frustrated and angry with the way the club is currently operating under the president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, and coaches Quique Setien and Eder Sarabia.
He is currently unwilling to sign a contract renewal unless a massive change in the Hierarchy takes place which would see the arrival of a new coach like Xavi Hernandez or Ronald Koeman while also ensuring the signing of quality reinforcements.
Rivaldo believes that Manchester City are strong candidates to acquire the Argentine international if he does decide to leave. But in reality, Messi would not desire an exit if things weren’t extremely bad in the locker room hinting towards a greater problem at Camp Nou.
“If he is considering leaving, then something must be up in the Barcelona dressing room and perhaps he is tired with all the constant problems that have surrounded the club in the last few months.” Rivaldo said
While Manchester City remains a great option, Rivaldo does not rule out the possibility of having Juventus as potential suitors as well.
“With all this speculation, I believe that some agents are already dreaming about a Messi-Ronaldo double at Juventus and how big it will be around the globe.
There would be a world ‘boom’ and I believe Juventus would quickly recover any investment on the Argentinian thanks to the boost they would get from visibility and marketing.”Rivaldo continued
Having Ronaldo and Messi on Juventus could push the Italian side to great heights potentially naming them the best team in the world. But in reality, by 2021, Ronaldo will be 36 years of age and likely to be looking for a new and easier challenge elsewhere.
Two of the best players in the world playing on the same team could drastically change the club’s rankings while ensuring fans get an unforgettable memory to remember for the rest of their lives.
