After a promotion to the Premier League, Leeds United are looking to add Chelsea star to their squad for next season.

After  Maurizio Sarri left for Juventus, Frank Lampard was appointed as the manager for Chelsea for the 2019-2020 season. Not a lot was expected from the English side as they were facing a transfer ban and one of their best players, Eden Hazard had left for Real Madrid. Things were not looking the best for the Blues.

But, the Chelsea legend pulled off what can be said as a miracle by securing a spot in the Champions League next season, with the help of just the youth academy players of the club. Youngsters like Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount have stepped up and shown great promise, putting up game-winning performances this season.

But Lampard does not want this situation to continue as Chelsea has made a few of the biggest buys during the transfer window. These include the signing of Timo Werner from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig and Hakim Ziyech from AFC Ajax, with the addition of such talent to the team the Blues can be a serious contender for picking up trophies next season. Even then, the plan of the Englishman does not stop there as he is still trying to bring A-quality players to the team.

To finance these transfers, however, the English side might have to let go of a few players, and one whose departure seems inevitable is Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi. The 26-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the Stamford Bridge, he has not received a lot of playtime under Lampard and has failed to prove himself in games. With new arrival Timo Werner and Olivier Giroud signing a new contract, it is unlikely that the Belgian would be continuing with the Blues.

According to reports, there are a lot of clubs interested in the Chelsea forward, the most prominent of which being Leeds United. With Leeds getting promoted back to Premier League for the first time since 2003, they are looking to strengthening their team to try and survive against bigger teams. The addition of a player like Batshuayi to the squad would be a perfect place to start for such an endeavor.

It remains to be seen whether a move involving the Belgian international would be taking place and for now a destination for the 26-year-old is yet to be decided.
