Juventus centre-back has now entered the radar of a La Liga giant after being heavily linked with a move to the Premier League

Andrea Pirlo’s managerial skill was put to test against AS Roma. The newly appointed Juventus manager secured one point from the game despite being a man down for over 30 minutes. However, one could say that it was a close call for the Zebre after Cristiano Ronaldo shined under pressure in the second half.

With the signing of Alvaro Morata on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid with an option to buy, the former Italian midfielder is on the lookout to sell some of his players. It is the defensive department that Pirlo is eager on trimming down as he believes that there is no room for Daniel Rugani.

The 26-year-old has immense competition in the defensive department with the likes of Leonardo Bonnucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Mathijs de Ligt and Merih Demiral. There is certainly no room for Daniel Rugani to get regular football. Along with the centre back, Pirlo is eager on offloading Douglas Costa as well from the left-wing.

The pair have been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer. Newly promoted side, Leeds United are eager on signing the Italian defender as Marcelo Bielsa considers the player to be an ideal back up for his captain, Liam Cooper. However, Calcio Mercato now reports that the move to Leeds might not go through as Valencia from the La Liga have shown serious interest.

Manager Javi Garcia of Los Ches is eager on signing the defender to solve his defensive issues. The Spanish side prefer signing Rugani on a season-long loan deal with the option to buy at the end of the season, something similar to that of Alvaro Morata’s.

However, Leeds United, Newcastle United, and West Ham are eager on signing the player on a permanent transfer and it seems like all four clubs would have to battle it out with the best offer for Rugani.
