LA Galaxy are pondering over another huge signing from Europe and have been linked with an Arsenal player this time around.
Arsenal were humbled to a 3-0 defeat by Aston Villa on Sunday evening as they have now lost four times in the Premier League already this season. Mikel Arteta’s side was totally outplayed in the midfield and having lost three of its last four league outings, some of the football experts have been quick to point out that they are missing Mesut Ozil.
Ozil has been frozen out by the Gunners despite showing loyalty on his part. The World Cup winner has been excluded by Arteta from his squads for the Europa League as well as the Premier League. The midfielder’s future was under dim lights during the summer amid talk that he had received offers from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United States.
Nevertheless, Ozil opted in favour of staying at the Emirates Stadium but unfortunately, his season seems over even before it could start. Given that he is 32 and would want to spend his last years playing regularly, a departure certainly cannot be ruled out and considering that he isn’t a part of the Arsenal squads, the club may let him move immediately.
Fichajes claims that there has been interest from LA Galaxy, who are going to offer competition to DC United in the pursuit of the ex-Real Madrid superstar. The Californian side has become a major brand in recent years, thanks to its signing of players like David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the last few years.
More often than not, the club tends to have a big name out of Europe in its squad but this time out, the player is not fulfilling expectations from a marketing as well as sporting perspective. Chicharito, who played for Manchester United and Real Madrid before has not been successful during his spell in the MLS and Galaxy are keen on offloading him.
Javier Hernandez occupies a considerable amount of wage share at the club and thus, they cannot afford to accommodate both- him and Ozil. Before attempting to make a move for the Arsenal man, they will try to offload the Mexican striker and explore the signing of the north London side’s highest-paid player who will have lofty demands at his next club too.
Do you reckon Ozil would move to LA Galaxy?
