Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid takes a drastic turn

Real Madrid have kept very good relations with Paris Saint-Germain to imminently sign Kylian Mbappe, but there may be another twist.

Kylian Mbappe’s transfer in 2021 is a dream for Real Madrid. Neither Florentino Perez nor Zinedine Zidane have made their obsession with the France international a secret and his arrival next summer is looking increasingly likely. The forward reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain that he intends to leave after this season but several possibilities still remain.

PSG’s biggest advantage over the Merengues is the fact that they can offer him an exorbitant wage, not to mention a list of attractive bonus payments as well. With his contract expiring in 2022, the club would be compelled into selling the youngster for around 100 million euros which is certainly a bargain for his calibre.

With that in mind, Mbappe will be offered a longer stay at the club by one year with bigger dollars than he would earn at the Santiago Bernabeu. The 21-year-old could be attracted by money but in the longer run, his own ambition also remains to reach the pinnacle of a footballer’s career and join Real Madrid.

L’Equipe has now claimed that the Whites are already accounting for a contract extension for Mbappe but given that they have no intention of losing him for another year, they have started planning for his transfer, financially speaking. Perez has already sold several players this summer and refrained against signing any player of a high profile and salary.

Among those sold, the most saving has been made on James Rodriguez. While the Colombian’s move to Everton was a free transfer, it helped Real ease financial pressure by getting rid of a player that was deemed surplus to requirements and occupied a sizeable wage. Achraf Hakimi, Sergio Reguilon and a few other academy players leaving created better financial leverage.

Besides the departures, it has also been said that the Real Madrid players decided to forego a bonus of one million euros each last season to help the club out of the pandemic which has therefore led to a further increase in roughly 25 million euros in cash and liquid variables. Mbappe’s signing will now be a certainty by the looks of it.

Real Madrid estimate his price, including all bonus payments and agent fees to near the 250 million euro mark and after how well Florentino Perez has conducted his business, it would be a reason apart from finances if the player and Madrid are not crossing paths and forming an association less than one year later.
