Kylian Mbappe has reminded Paris Saint-Germain that he wants to leave the club at the end of the season despite being on contract
Kylian Mbappe had made the headlines all around the world after it was reported that the forward asked Paris Saint-Germain to let him leave in the summer of 2021. Since then, everything has been pointing towards Real Madrid, however, there has been competition from Liverpool and Barcelona as well who are eager to sign the 21-year-old forward.
Reports from Spain state that the former AS Monaco winger has once again reminded the board of PSG about his decision. It seems like the 21-year-old is fixated on the idea of playing abroad and many believe that his favourite destination is the Santiago Bernabeu.
Unfortunately, there is little that Paris Saint-Germain can do about this situation. Since Mbappe is on a contract until the summer of 2022, the only feasible option would be to cash in on the player in 2021 rather than keeping him against his will until 2022 and losing him for free. Something similar to what Barcelona is facing with Lionel Messi.
So far, Mbappe has been in fine form with PSG in Ligue 1. The 21-year-old has managed to score six goals and has provided four assists in just five league games so far. However, the winger’s limelight was stolen in the Champions League when the Parisiens faced Manchester United at home and Marcus Rashford scored the late winner.
Nonetheless, Kylian Mbappe is a thorough professional and will give his best for the rest of the season. The 21-year-old will be hoping to win the UEFA Champions League this season with PSG in what could be his final season. Mbappe came close to winning it last season, however, poor finishing is what cost the young man and his side the title.
