Juventus are hoping to hand Liverpool a major blow in their defence of the Premier League by offering three players to land their target.
Adama Traore has had a good season by many standards and has had a key role to play in the Wolves’ quest to secure a place in European football for two successive seasons. According to the Daily Mail, the winger is closely being monitored by the likes of Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester City and Liverpool. The 24-year-old is currently valued at 80 million euros, a sum too big in these times.
Juventus look like the only team having a realistic chance at landing the winger. While they cannot meet the evaluation of €80 million through cash, they are ready to offer three players in exchange. The swap deal is set to include the goalkeeper, Mattia Perin and the defensive duo consisting of Daniele Rugani and Cristian Romero, who is currently out on loan.
Should this deal be successful, it will be the second signing of the summer for the Old Lady after having already secured the services of Arthur Melo in a swap deal which saw Miralem Pjanic on his way to Barcelona.
This deal might seem particularly lucrative to Wolves given that they have been keeping close tabs on Rugani for the past 12-18 months alongside Arsenal. However, it could also lead them to dig their own grave as their chances of securing a spot at European football next season would be seriously impacted given how crucial the Spanish star has been lately.
Wolves should convince him to stay at the club. They need time to find a suitable replacement for Traore, but from their perspective it’s better if he joins a foreigner over a domestic outfit, who they’ll face at least twice every season in the Premier League.
Adama Traore joining Liverpool could see them suffer a huge blow given the fact that they need someone defensively adept as Mohamed Salah doesn’t do much at the back while Trent Alexander-Arnold is very attacking-minded and leaves spaces behind sometime.
However, the former Barca star’s addition could be a brilliant one for the Bianconeri, given that Danilo has been horrible as their right-back and Juan Cuadrado has had to make for him. Besides, the players they’re offering anyway don’t have a future at the club.
Traore’s physical attributes coupled with his intellect is what that has grabbed everyone’s eyes. He has got sheer pace and good positioning skills which explains his season’s tally of 4 goals and 9 assists. Having arrived from Middlesbrough for 18 million pounds two years back, the Spaniard has grown by leaps and bounds as a player and he continues to do so.
