Juventus are within touching distance of announcing and presenting a replacement to former striker Gonzalo Higuain.
Gonzalo Higuain was released by Juventus last week as he completed a switch to Inter Miami. Andrea Pirlo decided against counting on the Argentina international given his age and therefore wants a different option to pair up with Cristiano Ronaldo up top.
As per Football Itlaia, Juventus are now close to bringing back3 Alvaro Morata on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid. This comes in the background of the departure of their former striker, Higuain and a stalled transfer for Roma marksman Edin Dzeko. The position of the striker is currently seeing a gaping hole within itself and Morata could well be the perfect fit.
The deal is rumoured to be worth 10 million euros with an option to buy the striker for 45 million euros at the end of his seasonal spell. It is highly unlikely that the Old Lady will exercise the latter as they will be on the hunt for some fresh, young legs once ample funds arrive.
Having already spent a handful of years at the club, the Serie A is no stranger to the Spaniard and he knows what it takes to succeed. In his stint at the club from 2014 to 2016, the 27-year-old won 2 Scudettos and found the net on 15 occasions in 63 games.
Should the rumoured deal come to fruition, Morata will be reuniting with his former teammates in Ronaldo and play under Pirlo, who was part of the squad in the player’s first tenure. He will be a great asset at the front end of the attack with Dybala and Ronaldo not needing to worry about the lack of pace of the striker.
Juventus are now closing in on his official signing. The striker has arrived in Turin to agree personal terms and complete his medical examination. Do you think Morata is the right addition to their roster?
