Italian giants, Juventus are interested in landing the French midfielder in Turin in the summer transfer window.
Juventus are going through a rough patch this season as they have been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in last 16 by Porto. The Bianconeri find themselves in third place in Serie A, 10 points behind the leaders, Inter Milan.
Andrea Pirlo, manager of Juventus will have his task cut out as he aims to strengthen his squad in the summer window. One of the areas which is a primary concern for the Old Lady is their midfield which has failed to provide any sort of spark in their attack. Midfielders, Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot who were both signed on free transfers might be on their way out in the summer, after struggling in Turin.
As reported by Calcio Mercato, Juventus are lining up an offer for Houssem Aouar whose contract at Olympique Lyon expires in the summer of 2023. However, the Bianconeri will need to raise funds from the sale of Rabiot and Ramsey if they can make a competitive bid for Aouar. It is expected that the sales of the two midfielders can bring about 50 million euros for the club, with Rabiot attracting interest from Everton and Marseille.
Houssem Aouar has been on the radar of Juventus for quite a while and the Italian club hopes to hijack a move for Arsenal’s prime target this summer. Mikel Arteta is also reportedly keen on signing the Frenchman in order to bolster his midfield. Aouar has registered six goals and four assists to his name in his 26 appearances so far this season. Given that he is just 22 years old and two years left on his contract, Lyon will be looking to make most of the deal if Juventus press for a transfer.
Juve defender, De Sciglio is on loan at Olympique Lyon and he can play a crucial role in this deal. The Old Lady can get a small relief in Aouar’s asking price with the inclusion of De Sciglio on a permanent move to Lyon. Aouar is one of the most highly-rated players in French football. At the age of just 22, he has played 163 matches for Lyon and has been a regular starter for the club.
However, what Juventus lack is a goal-scoring midfielder who can take some pressure off the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala. Arthur who arrived at the club in the summer is a similar kind of player as compared to Aouar. The Frenchman can control the game from the midfield, but his return in terms of goals and assists will be rather limited.
