Juventus are looking into the option of reinforcing their attack and have identified a former AC Milan marksman as a potential target.
Juventus are placed fourth on the Serie A table and seven points below the league leaders AC Milan. Andrea Pirlo is keen on delivering the Bianconeri their 10th consecutive Scudetto win, however, the Italian manager is aware that he needs a larger squad to do so. Juve are keen on recruiting players over the current January transfer market and are currently searching for a striker.
Players such as Olivier Giroud of Chelsea, Arkadiusz Milik of Napoli, and so on have been identified as key targets. However, Calcio Mercato reports that Juventus have now considered Krzysztof Piatek of Hertha Berlin since he was one of the best strikers during his stint with AC Milan in Serie A.
Piatek can be described as a conventional fox in the box striker. His style of play meets the exact requirements that the Turin-based outfit needs. Apart from Cristiano Ronaldo, Pirlo lacks a thorough marksman in the box as Alvaro Morata is fairly inconsistent is quite sloppy with his finishing.
Juventus plans on offering Federico Bernardeschi in a swap deal for the Hertha Berling star, however, this proposition is unlikely to work. Bernardeschi was earlier offered to the Bundesliga side in the summer of 2020, however, the Italian winger rejected the potential move to continue at the Allianz Arena.
Meanwhile, Piatek is open to the idea of leaving Hertha Berlin and has even hinted that he wants a return to Serie A. However, this does not come as positive news for Juve as the Polish striker’s former club Genoa have also joined the race in signing the marksman. The Bianconeri will have to compete with Genoa for the 25-year-old striker and reports state that he is keen on rejoining his former side.
