One of the quickest and most experienced Juventus forwards has offered himself to La Liga giants Barcelona for a potential move in the summer.

Since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus, a lot of players have had their spots impeded and therefore, been relegated to the bench. Douglas Costa has been among those.

As per Don Balon, Ronaldo has established supremacy in the club and an unsaid norm of adapting to his styles on the fields exists at the club. Paulo Dybala was a rebel last season and had to face some cuts in his playtime but responded brilliantly to create a formidable partnership with the Portugal international up top.

Douglas Costa, however, is looking for a way out as he believes that he will not reach his full potential in Turin and that he is already 29. Under Maurizio Sarri, the former Bayern Munich winger hasn’t played much this season but whenever he put a step on the field, his performances have been influential enough. Cut short, he is in a good patch of form and he is the kind of player that Barcelona may benefit from.

Neymar is simply out of reach for the Blaugrana because of their financial weakness in this pandemic-hit transfer window. His legal involvements with the club put the transfer off Dembele and Griezmann have been major flops at the position of the Left Winger and Costa presents himself as a much cheaper alternative who is hungry for some minutes on the pitch.

Barcelona should try and land the 29-year-old as he is being chased by Premier League giants in Manchester City and this just shows the kind of form, he has been in. His pace and crossing would complement Messi’s style of play and he could be one of the several answers that the Catalan giants have been seeking on the attacking front. Moreover, he could be the perfect competition for the youngster Ansu Fati. Barcelona is one of the preferred destinations for the Brazilian star and this should be kept in mind.

Costa is said to cost around £50 million which is an affordable sum for Barcelona. The Brazilian wants an out from the current Juventus set-up and the former La Liga giants should seize the opportunity. This would also ease some nerves which have all been about Barcelona’s dismal performance at the transfer market since the departure of Neymar.
