Inter Milan are reportedly planning to sign Manchester City superstar as the player might be up for grabs for free next summer
Inter Milan have the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez as their main strikers in the team. The Nerazzurri have also been dependent on Alexis Sanchez for his attacking presence in the final third. The club had been pretty efficient in front of the goal last season as they scored at an average of 2.16 goals per match in the Serie A which is quite an impressive stat given how defensive the league is.
Head coach Antonio Conte has often shown trust in the likes of Lukaku and Martinez to take the responsibility to bring in the goals for his side. Among the duo, the Belgian striker has been more prolific in front of the goal as the former Manchester United striker scored 23 goals in 36 appearances in the Serie A after being written off as a flop in the Premier League while at Old Trafford.
According to Calciomerato, Inter Milan are planning to bring in another top-class striker next summer as the club is planning to make a move for Sergio Aguero. The Manchester City striker has reportedly become a key target for Antonio Conte’s side.
The Argentine forward may have received less game time last season but his goalscoring exploits have been excellent as the striker scored 16 goals in 24 appearances in the Premier League. The former Atletico man has had injury issues at the club last season which saw him miss out on a lot of games.
Aguero has developed himself into a world-class forward since he arrived at the Etihad in the summer of 2011. The City striker has scored over 200 goals and is the highest goalscorer for the club. The Argentinian international became more popular for his stoppage-time goal against Queens Park Rangers which ultimately helped the Citizens to clinch the Premier League title.
Manchester City has a contract with the striker till June 2021 and as of now, there have been no talks about an extension for the former Atletico forward. Pep Guardiola‘s side will have the whole season to decide whether their prized asset has any future at the club beyond the summer of 2021.
Inter Milan will definitely enquire about the availability of the City forward as the player will become a free agent if he is not offered a new contract at the Etihad. The Nerazzurri might have the opportunity to sign one of the most lethal strikers of European football at a minimal cost.
