Serie A leaders, Inter Milan are keen on acquiring the services of a talented Argentine in the summer window.
Antonio Conte has done a brilliant job so far this season, in terms of both signings and results. Inter Milan are currently on top of the Serie A table with a six-point lead over AC Milan with a game in hand. Conte would look forward to having another successful transfer window in the summer, which can make them serious contenders for the Champions League next season.
Inter were desperate to sign the Argentinian midfielder, Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese in the January transfer window. The Nerazzurri were convinced that they could offload Christian Eriksen which could help finance the deal. However, Eriksen stayed at the club and the deal to sign De Paul fell through. However, Antonio Conte has reignited his interest in the Udinese midfielder, and sees him as a perfect fit in his strong midfield, as reported by Calcio Mercato.
De Paul is also keen on making a switch to Inter Milan in the summer, after having impressed at Udinese for two seasons. He is an ‘all-round’ midfielder who can contribute to both the defence and attack, which is exactly the kind of player Conte requires. So far, he has scored six goals and assisted another six in his 27 appearances in Serie A. The Argentine has a 40% participation in the goals scored by Udinese in the Serie A.
However, Udinese are demanding a huge sum for De Paul. The Friulian club value De Paul at around 35 million euros, whose contract expires in the summer of 2024. Inter Milan will look to offload Christian Eriksen in the summer in order to raise the finances to make a competitive bid for De Paul. Inter will be rivalled by the likes of Leeds, Zenit and several other European clubs to sign the midfielder. However, given their good relations with Udinese, it is expected that the Nerazzurri will eventually close the deal.
