Inter Milan have decided to let their superstar midfielder leave and Tottenham Hotspur remain favourites to land him
Marcelo Brozovic has been an integral part of Inter Milan since he arrived at the club 4 years ago. The Croatian has managed to make more than 200 appearances for the Nerazzurri, registering 23 goals and 25 assists in the process.
In the past few years, the 27-year-old has been indispensable for the Italian club has managed to play more than 3800 minutes under Antonio Conte last season. However, the story for this season has entirely altered as he has managed only 184 minutes over 4 games in Serie A.
A reduction in-game time has compelled the former Dinamo Zagreb midfielder to look for a new club, reports suggest that the Italian manager has lost faith in Brozovic and elected to use the player as a backup for his preferred starting 11.
An appalling performance from the 27-year-old in the Milan derby has further dented his hopes of registering a decent amount of game time in an Inter Milan shirt this season and arrivals of players such as Sensi, Barella, and Vidal have only increased the competition in the midfield area.
Nevertheless, clubs from different leagues are keeping a close eye on the Croatian‘s situation at the Italian club, with Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich, and AS Monaco emerging as the favorites to recruit the 27-year-old midfielder.
According to the reports, the Italian club is willing to accept a fee lower than his release clause of 60 million euros in order to get rid of the FIFA World Cup finalist. 3-time Champions League winners signed Brozovic in the summer of 2016 for a modest amount of 5 million euros.
It should be a wise decision for the former Zagreb man if he chooses to leave the Italian franchise in order to earn more game time, considering the competition he faces for his preferred position on the pitch. The quality possessed by the 27-year-old is phenomenal and could add a lot of value to any side he elects to join.
