Five talking points as Manchester City get hammered by Leicester City at home and have been handed their first Premier League defeat
Manchester City was handed their first defeat in the 2020/21 Premier League campaign after a humbling defeat against Leicester City at home. Pep Guardiola and his men were handed a 2-5 defeat despite opening the score in the first five minutes of the game after Riyad Mahrez scored an absolute belter.
The defeat is certainly not going to go down well in the dressing room as the Sky Blues have been considered as the favourites to win the Premier League this season ahead of Liverpool. The performance from the Foxes has been remarkable as they managed to come back despite being a goal down at the start of the game. The remarkable victory has sent out a strong statement to the rest of the Premier League teams that Leicester City is still world-class.
The Manchester outfit is set to take on Burnley next in the EFL Cup fourth road. Hopefully, the Pep’s side manages to pull themselves together and manage a victory over Burnley. Here are the five talking points.

JAIME VARDY RISES TO THE OCCASION
Jaime Vardy managed to score his first hattrick of the 2020/21 season. The striker has been on fine form since the start of the season, Vardy scored a brace in the opening fixture and his lethal form was on perfect display tonight at the Etihad Stadium. The 33-year-old equalized for Leicester City after a senseless foul from Kyle Walker that gave away a penalty. Vardy belted the ball into the top corner to only go one and score two more goals. Brendan Roger’s men are set to face West Ham next at the King Power stadium and all eyes will be on Jaime Vardy to fire in a few shots as the Hammers have once again started the season on a poor note.
