Manchester United left stranded as Borussia Dortmund calls off all possibilities to sign Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho has been one of the best acquisitions in recent years for the German side, Borussia Dortmund. The English winger was recruited by the German giants in the summer of 2017 and since then, he has transformed into a world-class attacker, possessing the capability of winning games single-handedly.

Since he arrived at Die Borussen, the 20-year-old has managed to score 35 times and assist 45 times in 102 games respectively in all competitions. Sancho’s world-class performances in the last two seasons for Dortmund have caught the attention of several clubs including Manchester United.

The Red Devils were linked with the 20-year-old throughout the summer and wanted to acquire the Englishman in order to bolster their attack. Manchester United believed that Sancho would add the much-needed spark in the right-wing that would help them in the challenge for the Premier League title.

The club from Germany valued their right-winger at a staggering amount of 120 million euros, whereas the Red Devils were falling 20 million short of the evaluation set by their German counterparts. The clubs went back and forth for the Manchester City academy graduate but failed to agree upon a transfer fee.

In recent developments, Borussia Dortmund has scrapped all the possibilities of selling Jadon Sancho in the winter transfer window, the clubs also adds, even if the Red Devils agree to meet the initial evaluation set by the German club, Dortmund would hold on to their star attacker till the end of the season.

However, the German club would allow Manchester United to take a chance next summer, as they would be free to negotiate with the club and the player. This step was initiated as Dortmund did not want to lose one of their key players mid-way through the season and disrupt the harmony of the team.

After the ongoing international break, Manchester United travel to St. James Park to face Newcastle, United who sit 7th in the Premier League, as they look to bounce back from an embarrassing defeat against Jose’s Tottenham Hotspur. The transfer saga for the Englishman continued throughout the summer, as the world of football witnessed shrewd negotiations from both the clubs, and it will be interesting to see how the story develops for the 20-year-old.
