Juventus signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid in 2018 and may pick-up another one of the La Liga side’s greatest players soon.
Cristiano Ronaldo has played the role of an agent since joining Juventus and helped them in making the extremely significant signing of Matthijs de Ligt last summer. The Portugal international’s words with the Dutchman in last year’s Nations League meeting between the two were enough to convince the central defender into joining the Serie A giants.
According to reports, the mercurial marksman is once again hoping to bring in a terrific player to Juventus- his target this time being Sergio Ramos. The Real Madrid captain has a contract at the Santiago Bernabeu which expires at the end of the 2020/21 campaign and in the event that his stay is not extended, Ramos would be a free agent this summer.
Juventus have a history of signing some incredible players as free agents in recent months, so it is no reason why they would not sign the 34-year-old in spite of his age. The Bianconeri may also be able to pay his wages now that they have offloaded Gonzalo Higuain and Blaise Matuidi- two high-earning players in the squad who were not in Andrea Pirlo’s plans.
Besides the defending Serie A champions, Paris Saint-Germain have also shown interest in landing the World Cup winner. Following Thiago Silva’s departure to Chelsea and Tanguy Koaussi’s to Bayern Munich, the Ligue 1 outfit is short on experienced central defenders and Ramos would bring in leadership as well as his image of one of the world’s greatest.
While two brilliant clubs and challenges await Ramos, it is very difficult to see him moving away from Real Madrid right now. The extension of his contract only remains a matter of time by the looks of it, whereas even the player himself has mentioned his desire to retire as a Madridista. Finally, he is also a fan favourite, captain and penalty-taker with Real Madrid.
Do you think Ramos will leave the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of his contract?
