Ronaldo has requested Juventus to help him reunite with a former Real Madrid colleague in Turin in the 2021 summer transfer window.

Cristiano Ronaldo arrived at Juventus after a lucrative transfer from Real Madrid in 2018. Despite winning the Serie A in each of his two seasons, the primary reason why he arrived in Turin was to win his side the UEFA Champions League. However, so far, it seems like it has been an individual effort from the Portugal international as he has scored all of their knockout stage goals in these two years.

One of the chief reasons why the Bianconeri have failed in contending for the European Cup is their lack of creativity in the midfield. The engine room, which is arguably the most crucial area on the pitch lacks linkage and thus, the attackers are not supplied with enough chances.

Ronald has been continuously showcasing his leadership, on and off the field, and has also involved himself in Juventus’ transfer matters. According to reports, the 35-year-old has strongly suggested Angel Di Maria‘s name as the next signing for the Italian Champions.

Both players have conserved a close relationship from their Real Madrid days and would be opting to recall their old days in Juventus colors. In his time at Paris Saint-Germain, the Argentine forward has registered more than 225 appearances for the club, lodging 82 goals and 92 assists in all competitions.

With less than nine months remaining on his contract with the Ligue 1 champions, it is highly unlikely that the 32-year-old will be extending as the Parisians are shifting focus towards building a younger squad. Juventus are closely monitoring Ronaldo’s preference and could make a move for the former Manchester United winger.

Ronaldo firmly believes that Di Maria can add much-needed experience and depth to the current Juventus squad. Di Maria’s next move could prove crucial for either clubs as they chase European glory in the imminent future. The 32-year-old has been fairly successful with the French side, winning 15 domestic titles in the process and would be hoping to replicate his form in Turin if he decides to leave.

Given Juve’s reputation of signing exquisite players as free agents, one certainly cannot put it past them to land Di Maria. On Ronaldo’s request, even the player himself could prioritize a move to Italy and if the duo does play again for a second time, the Bianconeri may be a step closer to the Champions League.
