Cristiano Ronaldo demands a struggling Arsenal midfielder to join him at Juventus.
At 35 years of age, Ronaldo continues to find success after being crowned the Serie A champions with his Italian side. While Juve are still in the current Champions League campaign, the Portuguese international desires many reinforcements to join him next season to have a greater chance at European glory.
While coach Maurizio Sarri has his own plans for the future, Ronaldo has demanded an unexpected signing from the board. The former Real Madrid forward wants to re-experience his success during his days at Santiago Bernabeu and to do that he believes he needs to reunite with his ideal partner, Mesut Ozil.
The German international has lost the trust of current and former Arsenal coaches after failing to find consistency during his time in the Premier League. His contract with the Gunners expires in 2021 meaning he could soon be joining his former teammate in Italy for free of cost. The only way the negotiations fail is if Juve decides that the midfielder’s 300-thousand-plus euros per week salary is too expensive to pay.
Arsenal’s new coach is yet to play the German maestro after a controversial injury being blamed as the reason for his absence. The Spaniard, however, does claim that he understands Ozil’s quality and looks to include him in his plans.
Mesut has unique qualities. He is a very special player for the position he plays, how specific he is in the qualities that he has and what he can bring to the team. I don’t think much has changed.” Arteta said.
It remains to be seen if Arteta desires to secure the midfielder for longer by offering him a contract renewal or perhaps even sell him in this transfer season to avoid losing him for free next year.
