Chelsea superstar, Jorginho, admits that Arsenal had shown a great deal of interest in signing the player in the summer transfer window

Chelsea and Arsenal have done a praiseworthy job at the recent transfer window as both clubs have been successful in acquiring almost all their prime targets. The former club has somehow been more proactive than the latter as the West London based club has been able to bring in more bright prospects to Stamford Bridge.

On the other hand, The Gunners to have been no slump in the transfer market as we saw the North London based club bring in some valuable additions like Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Thomas Partey. Mikel Arteta‘s side has been keen to bring in reinforcements in the summer window ahead of their hectic season.

However, a recent report revealed that Chelsea midfielder Jorginho was reportedly contacted by Arsenal over a potential move. When asked about the speculation, The Italian international admitted that the north Londoners were interested to secure the services of the midfielder and had personally contacted him over a potential switch.

The former Napoli man replied by saying, “So I believe there was something they talked about. And in the end, it was decided, chosen that I stay here.”

The 28-year-old also reaffirmed his desire to stay at the club and said, “And now my head is here and we’re going to do a great job with Chelsea, which I always wanted to do.”

In the ongoing season, Jorginho has had a promising start in the Premier League as the Brazilian born midfielder has already scored three goals in four appearances and has played a pivotal role in the Chelsea midfield. Coach Frank Lampard,  has shown faith in the Italian and has handed him a starting role in his lineup.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have had slight stutters at the very beginning of the season as the Premier League duo are currently sitting at 5th and 8th in the league table.
