Chelsea set a date in confidence with Bayern Leverkusen to announce the much-awaited signing of Kai Havertz from the Bundesliga.

Chelsea has been very busy with their business this season. After the appointment of former legend Frank Lampard as the manager, the English coach has taken it upon himself to renovate the team and hopefully bring back the glory days of being a favorite for winning the league and being a worthy contender for the Champions League.

These aspirations, however, do not come true without having players in the squad who have the quality to contend against the top clubs in Europe and give them a run for their money. These quality players are exactly what Lampard has been signing to play for his team, with the likes of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax Amsterdam and his magical left foot and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and his attacking threat in front of goal.

Now with the attack setup sorted out, all that the Blues need now is a midfielder who possesses the creativity to exploit the pace and the threat presented up the pitch such as Bayern Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz.

The 21-year-old German international has been exceptional, with his vision on the pitch, flair, and passing ability. The youngster would be a great addition to the Blues and with proper pairings in the middle of the pitch,  he could make up a very dominant and attacking minded midfield, which the club has been deprived of for a long time.

Even though the deals including Werner and Ziyech have been announced and they have already linked up with the squad, that does not seem to be the case with Kai Havertz. This is because the youngster has not been given the luxury to join the English side right away as he plays a huge role in the Europa League campaign for Leverkusen.

Negotiations between the two clubs are going on regarding the transfer which is approximated to cost a total of 90 million euros. If the deal is finalized, the announcement would be held on until after the tournament to avoid taking away the attention from their campaign in the tournament. Chelsea is more than happy to comply with the German side’s demands and will be looking forward to adding another gem in their squad.
