Chelsea play the waiting game to secure Kai Havertz deal
Bayer Leverkusen wants to delay Kai Havertz summer exit. Chelsea has been linked with a stunning £89 million deal to land Kai Havertz. As per the reports from BILD, the player is keen for a move to Stamford Bridge, as he is excited by the prospect of playing with fellow German team-mates Antonio Rudiger and Timo Werner as well as the long-term project being laid by Lampard.
As per the reports of Daily Star Chelsea will be forced to wait another month and a half as Leverkusen is not willing to let go of Kai Havertz before the completion of their Europa League campaign until the end of August.
Leverkusen has accepted the fact that Kai Havertz is interested in joining the blues and the Bundesliga side are willing to grant the player’s wishes of a move to the Premier League, but they are firm on their asking price of a reported £100 million.
The 21-year-old has told Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz that he is not willing to wait any longer before taking the next step in his career. However, reports previously suggested that Leverkusen were not willing to reduce their previous asking price of £100million.
Havertz has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid who considers the midfielder to be the ideal replacement for James Rodriguez. James has been treated as an outcast for the past several months and rumours state that the former Bayern Munich man will be moving to Manchester United this summer.
As per German publication, BILD has reported that in order to grant the players wishes for a transfer, Leverkusen is now willing to listen to offers which include bonus payments which comes as a big boost for the London side
The Blues have already spent a combined £88million on Ziyech and Werner and are planning to offer Leverkusen £80m fee along with bonus payments which will make the deal for a total of £100million.
