Chelsea have reportedly joined the race alongside Manchester City and Manchester United to sign Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea have undergone a complete revolution under Thomas Tuchel mid-season. The arrival of the former Paris Saint-Germain manager has turned the Blues fortunes around after Frank Lampard failed to find a proper game plan despite conducting a massive summer overhaul that includes signing top players such as Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva and Hakim Ziyech to name a few.
There is no denying that Tuchel has transformed Chelsea into an unbeatable side, however, finding the back of the net has been an issue for the Blues so far this season. The signing of Timo Werner has not gone to plan as the German striker has struggled with confidence in front of goal that has seen him miss ample goal-scoring chances this season.
Olivier Giroud has been an excellent backup striker at times and so has Tammy Abraham. However, Timo Werner continues to start ahead of the mentioned duo due to tactical reasons. Despite getting regular chances in the starting eleven, Werner’s inability to convert chances has created a serious issue for Thomas Tuchel.
Kane is also on the radar of clubs such as Manchester United and Manchester City who find themselves in the same boat as Chelsea- in need of a striker. The 27-year-old is valued at more than 100 million euros and is on contract with Spurs until 2024.
However, Tottenham may be forced into selling the striker this summer as Harry Kane is keen on a new challenge after failing to win a single senior trophy during his tenure at Spurs.
At Chelsea, Kane is more than likely to win a few trophies as the Blues have been transformed into a winning team under Thomas Tuchel. They have already made it into the UEFA Champions League final this season and look like serious Premier League title contenders next season.
The potential signing of the England national team captain will certainly benefit the side as he is not only a goal-scorer but also creates ample chances during attacking transitions.
This season in the Premier League, he has 13 assists along with 21 goals that prove how effective he is in front of goal. Timo Werner would also receive healthy competition that could end up pushing the former RB Leipzig striker to work on his finishing to earn a place in the starting eleven.
A move to Chelsea certainly looks exciting for both Harry Kane and the club, however, the Blues will have to battle it out against Manchester United and Manchester City who are also keen on signing the English striker this summer.
