Chelsea are now edging closer to finally confirming their third major attacking signing of the off-season.
As per Football talk, Chelsea are now close to signing one of the best upcoming prospects in Kai Havertz and by the looks of it, personal terms have already been agreed. This will be the third big singing at the Stamford Bridge who aim to win the top honours next season.
With Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner as their latest additions for the next season, the arrival of Havertz would indeed make their attack a formidable one. It seems the attacking midfielder is eager to join Chelsea and has penned down a five year contract worth 90 million pounds with him set to earn around 346,000 pounds per week. However, an agreement for the transfer is yet to be reached between Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea.
Even as per Fabrizio Romano, the personal terms have never been a problem but there’s a gap of 20 million euros between what Chelsea are prepared to offer and Bayer Leverkusen’s asking price. With all the add-ons, the Blue are offering close to 71 million euros for the German but Bayer Leverkusen are adamant on getting 90 million euros for his sale.
The 21-year-old has also made it clear that he wants to join Chelsea as soon as possible in a bid to settle in before the start of the next season and apparently is pressurizing his representatives for a move to be made out one way or the other.
Havertz has evolved into one of the brightest talents in football and is on his way to becoming one of the best midfielders. He is deceptively fast and a versatile playmaker as well. He will be a great addition to Chelsea’s growing pool of young talents such as Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount.
The rumours linking Havertz to Chelsea in the past few weeks have been very strong and they are true. Both the parties share a mutual interest, but time might not be in abundance for the Blues who have been given only till the 28th of this month to complete the deal.
