Manchester United are looking into the option of appointing Brendan Rogers instead of Mauricio Pochettino as their headcoach
With two consecutive losses against Arsenal and Istanbul Basaksehir in a week’s team has affected the squad morale and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. With the fixture against Everton awaiting Red Devils over the weekend, the countdown for the manager has started. Despite the denials from the Norwegian, the talks for replacing the current gaffer is going on at Old Trafford. In that view, Mauricio Pochettino and Brendan Rodgers are touted to replace the former Manchester United player.
Mauricio Pochettino is without a job for over a year after being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur in November 2019. The former Southampton boss is expected to replace the manager at Old Trafford in case the club decides to do so. However, Alan Brazil, former Manchester United player, is of the opinion that the job should be handed to Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers. Talking to standard sports outlet, Talksport, Alan Brazil said:
“I’d give Brendan the job at Manchester United.
“If Ole is to go then I would look no further than Rodgers.
“He’s done a brilliant job at Leicester. Yes, he’s had money, but I don’t care, look at the table as well. “He is top class.”
Brendan Rodgers has once again started well in the league with Leicester City finding themselves in the top two alongside Liverpool. In the previous season, the Foxes were outfoxed by Manchester United on the final day as Leicester were made to finish out of the top four.
Against Everton, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping to turn the tides and save his job. Though the club has remained patient with OGS, the dark clouds are hovering over the Norweigan boss. The club has always responded in a great fashion when the manager’s job was at stake. Can Manchester United defeat the tactical Carlo Ancelotti’s side on Saturday?
