The senior squad of Bayern Munich is optimistic on the signing of Callum Hudson-Odoi of Chelsea this summer market

Callum Hudson-Odoi has achieved so much in the short span of his career with Chelsea, winning the FA Cup, Europa League, and U-17 World Cup with the England national team.  The 2018/19 campaign was a breakthrough season for the young English winger who featured more than 25 times for Maurizio Sarri, scoring six goals and assisting seven in all competitions for the Blues.

After an Achilles heel rupture in 2019, the young winger has been sparsely used by the current Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, and has fallen down the order since the arrival of high profile signings such as Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic.

It seems like a growing concern in the young winger’s camp regarding the minutes received in previous games. The 19-year-old Englishman was handed a brief cameo in an unconvincing victory against Brighton and managed no game time against the Premier League champions, Liverpool which ended in woeful defeat for the Blues.

Champions League winners Bayern Munich are long time admirer of Hudson-Odoi as they tried secured his services 18 months ago, but eventually, the deal fell failed due to the agreement between Chelsea and the young Englishman for a contract extension as Odoi thought he would receive more game time at the Stamford Bridge.

Bayern Munich is looking to reinforce their attacking positions after the departure of Ivan Perisic and Phillippe Coutinho. Callum Hudson-Odoi was approached by the Bavarian giants before they signed the Manchester City winger Leroy Sane for 54 million pounds. It has now been reported that the champions of Europe are eager on signing the Chelsea superstar to which Frank Lampard replied that Callum Hudson-Odoi is still part of his plans.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is regarded as one of the best talents ever produced by Chelsea youth academy, loved by fans and admired by club officials, it would be a hard goodbye for the young Englishman. With two weeks left for the transfer window to close, the English side are looking forward to trimming their squad in the best possible way. Only time will tell where the winger plays next.
