Bayern Munich are looking to make a great signing from Inter Milan during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Ivan Perisic has been on loan with Bayern Munich since the last one year and despite performing well, Inter Milan may get rid of him. The 31-year-old was told last season by Antonio Conte that he does not fit into his plans and was consequently sent on a loan at the Allianz Arena.
The deal also included an option to buy the 2018 World Cup finalist for a sum of 20 million pounds but that expired mid-May. As per Sky Sports, the Bavarians are more than impressed with the Perisic show at Bayern and are ready to make the move permanent, three months after the optional buying clause expired.
It is possible that Inter will now look to increase the price of the midfielder by at least 5 million pounds now that Bayern’s interest in the midfielder is confirmed, and also because they have signed Achraf Hakimi and Alexis Sanchez without managing to sell.
Antonio Conte sports a 3-5-2 formation which does not suit the play of the likes of Ivan Perisic and Milan Skriniar. However, the Inter manager might still be tempted to try him on the left wing-back position. Right from the off, the major reason why the Italian coach planned without the Croat was because of his formation and not because he regarded Perisic as a sub-standard player.
Ashley Young and Cristiano Biraghi are the current options available for the position, but the latter is a part of the loan deal and the former might not be given preference on account of his age.
Bayern Munich could have made use of the buy-clause that was included in the deal, but it would have proven to be too big a burden on their financial tank because Leroy Sane had always been of ulterior priority and the costs for the German winger were not clearly known.
Perisic was on target for Hansi Flick’s side in an 8-2 mauling of Barcelona and he will be looking to add to his tally in the near future, during the Olympique Lyon fixture and potentially a final against Paris Saint-Germain.
