Bayern Munich are hoping to settle out the contract dispute with their star defender by offering an improved contract
As per Bavarian Football Works, Bayern Munich are planning to offer a revised contract to their star defender David Alaba. The length of the contract is not an issue, but the player is demanding an increase in his salary, something that the Bavarians aren’t willing to give now.
David Alaba wants to earn as much as 20 million euros per year but Bayern is willing to go as high as 11 million euros, only. In addition to the 5 million euros can be earned by the player but that would depend on the team’s success and his performances.
Alaba has been a stalwart at the club, alongside the likes of Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller. It is well within his status and rights to demand a salary hike. Alaba has made it clear that he wants to stay at the Allianz Arena and will be willing to pen down a deal with the club, one that suits his requirements. Previously, a 4-year deal was offered to him by the club but now the Bavarians are hoping to offer him a 5-year deal which could probably help them find common ground with the German defender.
Should this deal not go through, it is highly unlikely that Alaba will force a move away from the club. However, the 28-year-old has many options, should he decide to leave the club. The likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, and PSG are in need of a center-back and one of them could very well sign him. David Alaba is highly rated and vastly experienced which makes him an asset for any team and that justifies why Bayern wants to keep him for another 4 years.
He has been consistent at the top level and still has about three years left in his prime. Bayern should meet his requirements as it would be a big blow for them if Alaba does decide to leave the club.
