Bayern Munich are hoping to land one of the most promising and talented midfielders from Barcelona this summer transfer market.
Bayern Munich are planning on reinforcing their squad further at the end of the season after already signing a few top players earlier this season. The European champions managed to sign Leroy Sane, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Marc Roca, and Douglas Costa at the start of the season to reinforce their squad.
ESPN reports that Hansi Flick has now kept close tabs on another top-signing that Bayern Munich plans on getting at the end of the season. The player in question is Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona. The former Ajax Amsterdam midfielder has managed to revive his career this season under Ronald Koeman after a rather slow start to life at his new club under Ernesto Valverde and Quique Setien.
Frenkie de Jong is currently an indispensable starter under Koeman and has recently put in several top-performances to back his status. A potential move to Bayern Munich at the end of the season seems to be a far-fetched rumour. Although a move to the European champions could certainly be flattering for the Dutchman, it is highly unlikely that he would consider a switch so early in his Barcelona career.
Meanwhile, the Bavarians are set to lose two important players at the end of the season. David Alaba will not be renewing his contract and the Austrian is currently in close contact with Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Javi Martinez has been linked with a move to Athletic Bilbao at the end of the season.
Hansi Flick has also admitted that Bayern Munich will not be making any signing during the January transfer market. The club certainly requires reinforcements mainly in the central midfield position and defense, however, the club has taken a strong stance as they continue to cope with the financial impact that COVID-19 has had globally.
