Barcelona have begun preparations for the upcoming winter transfer window as the club is looking to add reinforcements
Barcelona has already begun preparations for the winter transfer window which is due to begin from the first week of December. The Catalan club will be looking to secure the services of some of their prime targets in the upcoming transfer window as Ronald Koeman’s side would be looking to beef up their bench strength.
In the summer transfer window, the Blaugrana have not been very effective in signing top-quality players as the Spanish side has only added the likes of Fransico Trincao, Pedri, and Sergino Dest. Barcelona’s only marquee signing has been Miralem Pjanic from Juventus which has come under severe criticism.
Ronald Koeman’s side has let go of some of their star players as the management has been insistent on a clearout. The Blaugrana have bid farewell to some of their first-team players like Luis Suarez, Arthuro Vidal, Nelson Semedo. The club has also parted ways with squad members like Arthur Melo and Ivan Rakitic which has not gone down very well amongst the fans.
The Catalan club has now set sights on the upcoming transfer window as the La Liga giants will look to scoop out deals for their past targets. Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia were on the wishlist of the Blaugrana outfit in the summer transfer window.
Both players came close to leaving their respective clubs but somehow couldn’t shift base as there was no official agreement between both parties. But recent developments suggest that Barcelona will look to restart talks with Lyon and Manchester City for potential moves for Depay and Garcia.
Ronald Koeman’s side will also look to sell Ousmane Dembele in the winter transfer as the player has reportedly not been included in the first-team operations of the Dutch manager. The former Dortmund forward has failed to make an impact at the Camp Nou since his arrival in 2017 as the player has spent more time at the sidelines owing to his frequent injuries.
Barcelona’s winter transfer scheme will consist of bringing in two of their prime targets to the club and sell the French international for a nominal fee. The Blaugrana will look to demand a fee of around 80 million euros for Dembele but might lower their price tag to get rid of the fragile forward.
