Cristiano Ronaldo’s possible switch to Paris Saint-Germain from Juventus lies in the hands of Barcelona, according to reports.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s future has come under the limelight as rumours state that Portuguese forward has considered a move out of Juventus. However, according to reports from Spain, it seems like the 35-year-old is eager on joining forces with Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain, however, Barcelona shockingly has a major say in the possible move.
Barcelona has tried everything under the sun to replace Neymar Jr when he left the Camp Nou in the summer of 2017 for PSG for a world-record transfer. Since then the Catalans have signed Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Antoine Griezmann, and a few others, however, none of the players have been able to successfully fill in the void that the former Santos man left behind.
Barca has also been poor in the Champions League since then and Lionel Messi believes that the club could conquer the European summit for the sixth time if the club signs Neymar. The Brazilian’s individual brilliance was displayed yesterday as the former Santos man guided the club to the semi-final after pulling off a comeback in the dying minutes of the game.
The report from Diaro GOL now claims that the Catalans will once again attempt to sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain and the rumoured asking fee from Paris seems to be 180 million euros or more. If Barca is to sign Neymar, then PSG would be given the green light to get their hands on Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo had completed his move to Juventus in the summer of 2018 for 100 million euros and it seems highly unlikely that PSG would have to pay over 100 million euros to sign the player this summer or next season as the forward’s value has depreciated in the market.
The rumour also claims that the former Real Madrid winger had also asked his agent, Jorge Mendes, to contact the Santiago Bernabeu. However, Zinedine Zidane has turned down the idea of signing the 35-year-old as the Frenchman believes that all the funds of the club must be used to sign Kylian Mbappe.
For now, Cristiano Ronaldo’s future remains highly uncertain and the Bianconeri have already sacked Maurizio Sarri and have permitted Blaise Matuidi to leave the club for Inter Miami. New head coach Andrea Pirlo has also made it clear that Douglas Costa will not feature in his plans next season and that the club must sign another creative midfielder to partner Arthur Melo next year.
Big changes are coming towards the Allianz Stadium and Ronaldo’s future could be one of them.
