Neymar dreams of a return to Barcelona this summer market
PSG forward Neymar wants a return to Barcelona and has begun to value his future at the club. The Brazilian forward’s contract is set to expire in 2022 and negotiations for his renewal has stalled which has made the situation clear for PSG that if they fail to agree on an extension, it is likely that they will have to cash in on the player and sell him in the next summer transfer window as per the reports from Mundo Deportivo.
After his departure from Barcelona, Neymar still maintains frequent contact with his friends at Barcelona who has let him know that he would be welcomed with open arms in the dressing room. The Brazilian is aware that this year will prove to be decisive for his transfer, but also knows that PSG will not sanction the move unless they have an ideal replacement ready.
In spite of all the dreams Neymar has of a return to Barcelona, his hopes would have been dealt a blow as a few days before Barcelona president Bartomeu has potentially ruled any deals for Neymar their primary target for this summer window is Lautaro Martinez and further stressed that due to the Covid-19 implications they simply do not have the funds to complete both deals.
There are several players Barcelona could use as bait such as Dembélé, Umtiti, Rakitic, and Coutinho. Although several reports have suggested that PSG are not interested in any of the above players and are only willing to continue talks if Barcelona if they table a bid close to the release clause that was paid by PSG a few years ago.
However, before a possible return to Barcelona, Neymar has stated that he is fully focused on the remaining UCL campaign and wants to help PSG compete for the title this season. PSG will face Atalanta in the quarter-finals in an eliminator and Neymar has stressed about his ambitions to go deep into the competition with PSG.
