Two Premier League giants, Chelsea and Tottenham, are planning to steal Barcelona target.

Recent reports claim that Barcelona are interested in signing a Premier League left-back to play as the backup to an aging Jordi Alba but face tough competition. The Catalans are in the market for many reinforcements after a disappointing campaign where they are yet to win a single trophy going into a tough Champions League draw against Bayern Munich.

Their financial situation, however, will not allow them to make many signings in the transfer window as a limited budget will only allow for one expensive transfer while the others will heavily depend on player sales or exchanges.

While many positions need fixing, Barca have also aimed to bring a new left-back to play as a substitute for Alba as the 31-year-old has often struggled to play the entire season without getting a break. While Junior Firpo was meant to fix this issue, his lackluster performance has made the board look elsewhere for candidates.

While many names like Alex Telles or Nicolás Tagliafico have been linked with a move to the Nou Camp, reports suggest that the Spanish side are interested in securing relegating Premier League side, Watford’s full-back Pervis Estupinan.

The club believes that the left-back could be a great cheaper alternative but face competition from other European giants like Tottenham and Chelsea who are equally interesting in acquiring the youngster. The 22-year-old has never featured for Watford but his loan spells in La Liga with clubs like Osasuna and Mallorca has reportedly impressed the Catalan side enough to make an official approach this transfer window.

The former Premer League side, now relegated, have a tough time ahead as many of their players are set to depart which might force their hand into selling them for cheap which is exactly what Barca are hoping, to make a great signing during a tough economic time.
